some compelling new work from Merkley + Partners for Ad Council. The spots are getting a lot of buzz. In fact, M+P’s Stacey Lesser (Executive Planning Director) recently took a trip to Washington and presented the work to some DC bigwigs, including the Department of Justice (DOJ), the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children® (NCMEC), the Advertising Council and U.S. Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales. The new campaign, “Think Before You Post,” is designed to raise awareness about the growing national epidemic of online sexual exploitation and includes print, radio and TV spots. According to Lesser, “Attorney General Gonzales and his wife didn’t just attend the meeting. They were engaged and active participants during the presentation.” Gonzales said, “The existence of online predators is a very real threat for children using the Internet. This ad campaign will raise awareness to help safeguard against sexual exploitation and abuse by encouraging children to protect their identities and images when socializing online.”
