Hace poco tiempo han sido presentadas en España, las nuevas ecografías tridimensionales que graban las imágenes de los niños no nacidos.
En un estudio de A Woman´s Concern, de Massachussets (Estados Unidos), centro que atiende mensualmente 200 mujeres embarazadas en situación difícil, se ofrecen datos significativos sobre el impacto de la nueva tecnología.
Antes del examen por ultrasonido el 61,9% de las mujeres consideradas por los expertos del centro “vulnerables al aborto” acababan abortando, mientras el 33,7 decidía dar a luz.
A partir del año 2000, una vez introducido el examen con ultrasonido como parte de su asistencia medica, las cifras se han invertido, el 63,5% de las mujeres “vulnerables al aborto” acaban completando su gestación, mientras que las que deciden abortar descienden al 24,5%.
Las imágenes que ofrecen los nuevos sistemas de exploración son tan nítidas que la exclamación habitual de las madres suele ser al ver la ecografía: “¡Mi bebé!”.
