Los Angeles Riots and Rodney King
02:07  - 3 years ago
What became known as the Rodney King verdict set off the biggest riots in American history. Centered in Los Angeles in 1992, the riots were started by the acquittal of four white policemen for the videotaped beating of African American Rodney King. In mostly minority populated areas of south central Los Angeles the verdict was viewed as racially motivated and as a slap in the face of civil rights. In anger people took to the streets for five days and burned, stole and caused over one billion dollars in damages. See 1000's of free video clips at www.encyclomedia.com
