Music plays a vital role for every body. It is the musical fine arts that unite culture, traditional and geographical nature of respective world nations. Though they may be different in any way. The musical instruments that create the musical tones are interesting. So let’s study the musical instruments of Myanmar nationals. Now we are presenting the music, which is mainly played with brass gong together with Myanmar Orchestra at the Yamayana Jataka in Kong-baung period. Our MRTV-3 will be presenting to you about Myanmar musical instruments. Myanmar percussion instrument comprises several kinds of drums such as long drums, royal drums, pot drums and horizontal drums. There are 21 or more in number are hung in a circle inside an ornamental frame and turned in three octaves to take the tune of the music like any first violin of the orchestra. There are more drums in the Myanmar orchestra than the drum-circle. Among them, mainly mentioned are circle of drums, six-drums, base drum and horizontal drum. In folk music, we have folk drums called dohbat, ozi, byaw, bongyi and sidaw. This is an entertainment of long drum dance based on playing of Myanmar Traditional musical instruments. While carrying long drums slung over their shoulders, men courteously dance together with damsels. It’s a kind of Myanmar Culture. One of the well known Myanmar country song “ Moezar Byaw” is presented here with the accompaniment of long drum, symbol, timing bell and oboe.Young and pretty damsels play the drums while carrying them slung over their shoulders and dance merrily and actively.
