Dora Bryan has tried her hand at just about every sort of acting you can think of, during her 60 year career she’s worked in theatre, TV and film, earning her place as one of Britain’s best loved actors. Usually playing the role of ‘cheeky’ women she’s presently on our screens as Roz in Last of the Summer Wine. Dora published her autobiography, According To Dora, way back in 1987 and has now brought out another book, Tapestry Tales, a collection of her own thoughts and memories.
In part 1 Dora tells us about one of her earliest memories of being in theatre, she was in Jack and the Beanstalk and her father had to pick her up after each show to save her from the comics! Dora was also very close to her mother, who wanted her to play the piano, but Dora had her heart set on learning the clarionet [sic].
