Matt Cota of KSBY, TV channel 6, reports (09Oct.2006) on the renewal of Measure D, a ballot measure to renew and increase (by one-quarter percent) the sales tax in Santa Barbara County. The tax would pay for a wide range of transportation projects in a comprehensive package crafted by careful deliberation and classic political compromising among the County Board of Supervisors, public advocacy groups, and all of the cities in the County. See www.measure-d.com
In this news story, Yes on Measure D was endorsed by Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce and the new State Assembly Transportation Chair, Pedro Nava (although no label or caption for Nava's remarks). Nava highlights how these local funds for transportation will be greatly magnified by matching State and Federal funds to add to the projects, but without local funds the State funds would be much more difficult to secure.
The news video also includes a bonus bit in the beginning about happy golfers, although they seem to be as relevent and on-point as the tired vote-No speakers. The end of the news story then mis-states a fact about the monthly cost of the sales tax.
This news video obviously was made crudely, including a bonus effect of the ceiling light shining on the TV screen. But until KSBY gets its own video going at its web site, these crude vids are the only way to get them on the Internets.Matt Cota of KSBY, TV channel 6, reports (09Oct.2006) on the renewal of Measure D, a ballot measure to renew and increase (by one-quarter pe...all »Matt Cota of KSBY, TV channel 6, reports (09Oct.2006) on the renewal of Measure D, a ballot measure to renew and increase (by one-quarter percent) the sales tax in Santa Barbara County.
