Conservancy scientists in New York are using a new high-tech monitoring tool called Dual Frequency Identification Sonar (DIDSON), to census the migration of American eels. The resulting video will help them obtain baseline and long-term population data for these elusive travelers and develop a comprehensive conservation plan.
