Djinn by Eliane Lima
14:48  - 1 year ago
DJINN is a 35 mm short film made between Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and NYC, USA. The idea was to create a different kind of book adaptation. I had the first chapter of the book "Djinn", by Alain Robbe-Grillet as a reference. I used the "table-top" technique (snap shots) to show in image a different concept of time in the film. I also used repetition and did not follow editing rules, destroying the narrative. In fact, nothing happens there and is no story, only empty spaces and false actions. This project is an homage to Alain Robbe-Grillet and to the Brazilian philosopher Claudio Ulpiano. Forms: Experimental, Short Genres: Independent, Art
