The City of Urbana, Illinois decided to replace the asphalt over the original brick streets in this block. The old bricks were still there underneath. Now in 2008 the street is covered with a fresh layer of black asphalt. The old red bricks looked really nice, once upon a time. These clips show parts of the removal operation in the W. 600 block and hint at what W.
