Mr Slash has everything: tone, speed, phrasing, good songs and a filthy haircut. He has most likely got his inspiration from older blues guitarists - and has then borrowed those licks/styles into his overdriven, heavy rock music. He uses his technical ablilities sparsely, in a way everybody should adopt: shred licks are only used when the solo/song reaches it's climax. By doing so, Slash gets maximum effect out of his playing.
Having said this - you'll notice today's examples are pretty speedy... But hey, this is the ShredMasterclass - right? Also, people tend to have most problems with Slash's speedy stuff.
So we will look at some pentatonic blues licks on steroids "à la Slash".
