A Fox 17 News story on the discovery of prehistoric cave art in Dunbar Cave

This is a Fox 17 News story on the discovery of over Thirty-two prehistoric cave drawings and etchings made by the Missippian indians inside Dunbar Cave. This story was originally aired November 23rd, 2006. The first discovery was made in January 2005. Jan Simek, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Tennessee, who has been involved in the analysis of this ancient art is interviewed and describes the findings. The video is used with their permission and cooperation. Dunbar Cave becomes the only site in the United States where the public can view ancient artwork from the Mississippian Era Dunbar Cave is located 60 minutes northwest of Nashville and about one and a half miles northeast of downtown Clarksville, TN in Montgomery County. Dunbar Cave is the most prominent of several caves located in this designated natural area. In the roomy mouth of the cave, square dances, radio shows, and big band era concerts were once held.
