I took this video in December 2003 with a Canon A80 in the Canon housing. I was the first in our group to notice the Eagle Ray while we were about to start our ascent. The disturbances in the video are the result of my buddy pulling on my flipper to try and bring me back down. As I got excited, I lost control of my breathing and began shooting towards the surface, but because I was looking through the camera, I had no idea. At about ten feet from the surface I finally looked down, and saw him frantically motioning for me to follow him back down. Due only to the shallow depth of the dive (approx. 45 feet) I didn't suffer any consequences. I certainly would have if it was a deeper dive. Leave the camera at home on your first open water diving trip.Spiffdog@gmail.com
