The story of the odyssey starts with the her, Odysseus, being drafted off to the trojan war the day of his sons birth. At the end of the war Odysses and his crew did not pay tribute to Psioden, God of the Seas, who then in an angry rage proclaimed Odysseus would not make it home until he had suffered enough or died. First he is stranded on the nymph, Calypso's island for 7 years. At which point the gods then release him from Calypso's island and he then crashes onto the witch Cercie's island. After talking with a minor sea god while stranded he finds out how he escape the island and get home. After getting away he is wisked off to the land of the Phaecians, Rulers of the Sea. The Pheacians, knowing of Odysseus' great struggle and accomplishments shuttle him to his home land. A Pheacian prophecy then comes true landlocking the rulers of the sea for being too generous with their great abilities. All this time Odysseus' son, Talemacus, is off trying to find any information on his father. Upon giving up his quest Talemacus meets an old man in one of his sheep herders shacks.
