Court says Hussein to be hanged
The Iraqi High Tribunal today sentenced a combative Saddam Hussein and two other defendants to death by hanging for a brutal crackdown in 1982 in the Shiite town of Dujail. The five-member tribunal met amid heavy security and curfews to give its verdict, as authorities braced for violent reactions.
