Trojan Down: The Final Implosion
09:24  - 3 years ago
Portland General Electric, Oregon's largest utility, recently announced that the cooling tower of its troubled Trojan nuclear power plant in Rainier would be imploded on May 21st, 2006. A group of citizen activists who had worked for nearly 20 years to close Trojan traveled to Kalama, Washington to witness the event from vantage points across the Columbia River. Trojan was shut down in 1993 because of critical safety and economic issues. A special thank you to the thousands of Oregonians who fought to close Trojan. Produced by Jayson Dunlap
