Vintage Linens | Bedding | Table Linens
05:26  - 2 years ago
Most Victorian houses were built with a linen closet, even though it could be a very small one. The closet was well arranged to display the piles of bedding, sheets, and towels, as well as table linens. Each shelf was freshened with a sachet bag of sweet lavender. The Victorian woman took a great deal of pride in having a well stocked linen closet. During the late nineteenth century, the honeycomb and Marseilles spreads sold in large quantities. Today it is possible to find many of these treasured vintage linens and bedding in antique shops and flea markets. What could be more enchanting than a collection of vintage linens trimmed with antique lace as a shower gift for today’s bride?
