Torrance Memorial Medical Center Torrance CA - Torrance Memorial Medical Center is South Bay’s first hospital, established in 1925 by Jared Sidney Torrance, the city’s founder, and his wife Helena.
Today, Torrance Memorial is a 376-bed fully accredited medical center offering hospital services and outpatient programs -- and is only one of three Burn Centers in Los Angeles County.
In recent years, it has kept pace with the changing needs of the community, including the addition of Family Birth Center suites, the Polak(Poh-luck) Imaging Pavilion, and the McMillen Center for Chemical Dependency Treatment. Opening soon is an expansion of the emergency department, and the addition of surgical suites and hospital rooms.
Torrance Memorial Medical Center received the highest recognition in the community for quality medical services in a survey conducted by National Research Corporation, and the medical center is a four-time designee as a Top 100 U.S. Hospital by Solucient(Sol-oo-shent), one important industry benchmark for quality and leadership.
