5 Sociability, the Internet and Empircal Data in the mid-late 1990s: Communities and Individualization
31:52  - 2 years ago
This is the fifth video lecture in a series about the information technology revolution, vis-a-vis long time UC Berkeley Professor Manuel Castells' work. This video focuses on questions of sociability vis-a-vis the Internet and related empirical data in the mid-late 1990s. How do communities and individualization take shape anew in the context of the information technology revolution. I created this video for a course I teach on "Society and Information Technology," online only here and on Berkman island in Second Life, the 3-D virtual world - http://socinfotech.pbwiki.com.
