Dr. William McConochie of Political Psychology Research, Inc. (a non-profit research organization based in Eugene, Oregon) explains his research aimed at measuring over 20 different individual personality traits related to political orientation. By using a battery of carefully designed questionnaires and survey instruments, McConochie has established metrics for warmongering, warmongering-proneness, sustainability endorsement, human rights endorsement, religious fundamentalism, kindly religious beliefs, public democracy endorsement and many other traits. Warmongering-proneness is measured by a 50-item scale that journalists, scientists, historians and the general public can use to determine the degree of this trait in current politicians or historical figures. Initial scores for several politicians and historical figures are available.
Just as McConochie's earlier work was used to identify safe and reliable drivers for the trucking industry (dramatically reducing accidents and improving safety), so too are there practical applications for his recent work in the political arena that could significantly enhance public interest democracy by helping voters and analysts identify and compare the leadership traits of candidates for public office, thus maximizing the likelihood of peace and prosperity while minimizing risks of war and conflict. His research has led to a detailed model for a new political party promoting the best interests of the community overall, which 90 percent of surveyed Americans prefer over special interest group democracy. His research has also led to a model for a world meta-religion to unite peaceful persons of all faiths from around the world.Dr. William McConochie of Political Psychology Research, Inc.
