"Flipping" an Inverted Intraocular Lens during Cataract Surgery

Dr. Fladen of The Fladen Eye and Lasik Center in Canton, Ohio demonstrates how safely and easily it is to "flip" an inverted Alcon Acrysof Acrylic Posterior Chamber Intraocular Lens.
The implant was loaded into the delivery cartridge system by the scrub nurse. Upon delivery of the intraocular lens into the eye, it was noted that the implant was inverted and needed to be re-oriented.
A simple placement of a spatula under the lens enabled the implant to be "flipped" into its correct orientation.
