In February 2005, Mayor Jerry Abramson, along with Humana co-founder David Jones, unveiled a progressive initiative to transform Louisville from a city with parks into a City of Parks. And as part of this initiative the Mayor announced on May 18, 2006 that Metro Parks acquired a 94-acre property along Floyds Fork near I-64.
