Thanks to Web Strategy's Jeremiah Owyang live, streaming video on Ustream.tv, people anywhere can attend the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco with him. Conferences have had live video before, but only with a lot of planning and infrastructure. Here, a laptop, a data connection, and about $200 in equipment turns anyone into a broadcaster. And people can comment and discuss the material at the same time. Owyang calls it 'neta.' A step beyond 'meta.' Explains he, "This is a backchannel about the conference that folks are not even at, while Mario liveblogs next to me."
