Paragliding at Strete, Devon 18th October 2007. Bob Moore
06:07  - 2 years ago
Nice flight at this South Devon site in October, 2007. Flight was about 3/4 hour edited to 6 mins for clip. Wind a bit off to the North so it was difficult to get all the way to Matthew Point, (the place with the house on the top near the beach at the far end from launch.) Lovely day for autumn. A few sea thermals taking me up to 400 feet above launch. The long beach is Slapton Sands (actually shingle!)and the village at the far end is Torcross, where the Americans and British practiced the D day landings during the second World War. Slapton is on the Western edge of Lyme Bay, where the same D Day landings exercise cost the lives of several hundred American troops when there unprotected convoy was attacked by U boats. A South Devon Hang Gliding and Paraglidng Club Site. Music Gotan Project. Camera Sanyo Xacti C40. Edited with Ulead Studio Pro 11. Please check out my website for more paragliding videos, flying and sailing pictures and some great games and reaction tests! http://homepage.virgin.net/bobmoore.sfy/ Happy Flying!
