One of the most innovative attractions ever created, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was open from Ocober 14, 1971 - September 5, 1994. Themed after the popular live-action 1954 Disney film of the same name, this attraction placed guests in Captain Nemo's submarine, Nautilus. Looking through portholes, guests could see a breathtaking underwater world, as the subs travelled to Vulcania, Captain Nemo's South Seas Hideaway. While the subs slipped silently through beautiful coral reefs and dark caverns, guests got glimpses of Audio-Animatronic divers, seahorses, clams, eels, even a giant squid, and much, much more.
