The San Diego Ballet is a young, professional company, founded in 1991 and co-directed by Robin Sherertz Morgan and Javier Velasco. The California troupe features a strong, contemporary ballet repertory created by Mr. Velasco, the resident choreographer, Thor Sutowski, and other dancemakers.

Also in the company's repertory is a popular holiday production of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker."
