G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero is a military-themed line of action figures and toys. Produced by Hasbro, the toyline originally appeared in 1982, and it continues to the present. It was supported by a Marvel comic book series and a popular cartoon television show that ran in the 1980s as well as a gamut of merchandising tie-ins. Marvel issued a comic to help promote the toyline, and Sunbow's animated promotions for the comic paved the way for the ongoing cartoon.
This was one of the best toons in the 1980's as shown on WPIX channel 11 in New York 5 day a week in the afternoons, it was filled with action and adventure.
It had the best characters that included Duke, Snake-Eyes, Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, Destro, Zartan and many, many others and the best voices to match the characters as well.
