ALBUQUERQUE - A New Mexico State Fair vendor peddling knockoff handbags as designer originals flipped out when confronted by KRQE New 13 in a videotaped incident that left the news photographer injured.
The vendor was pushing something that many women find very tempting.
For a fraction of the price ladies across the world carry bags bearing the brand of Dolce and Gabbana, Prada, Gucci and Coach.
A huge collection of what seem to be designer handbags are for sale in the booths leased to vendors at the State Fair.
But they aren't designer bags; they're knock-offs. Yet some vendors at said the purses they were selling were the real deal.
On Monday, News 13 asked one vendor if the Coach handbags for sale were the real thing.
She said yes, they were irregulars that came from the Coach factory.
The on Wednesday, a KRQE News 13 producer with a hidden microphone returned to the booth and asked again as a news camera rolled from a discreet distance.
