I got to see Asimo at Disneyland in Innoventions. The technical side of him was running in real time; i.e. the balancing algorithims and stair walking and whatnot were all as they would function in reality. However, he was running in a "presentation" mode where there were scripted events, so it wasn't like he and the presenter were playing things by ear.
