Pastor Nelson Turner preaching from the Gospel of Matthew 13:24-30 as found to our edification in the AV1611 King James Bible expounds on the "Parable of the Wheat and the Tares," using this parable and other verses throughout the Holy Bible to reveal the duty of the faithful to remain vigilant; ever watchful.
"...Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation." Luke 22:46 All of us grow weary and slumber, but it is then that the "enemy" invades the field planted with good seed by the Lord, and seeks to choke the harvest of wheat with his corrupt seed. This IS a parable concerning "the kingdom of heaven", and Pastor Turner shows how it is indicative of the visible church and of its history, contrasting this "kingdom of heaven" where there is division, corruption, and punishment with "The Kingdom of God" which is incorrupt.
But NOTE all you enemies --"free will, works salvation, do-it-yourselfers" -- who think it possible that the Elect of the Father, washed in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and saved by the gift of faith, believing on Him can lose our salvation: The wheat, growing together with the tares by the will of the owner of the field, is not lost. The good seed which is planted by the Lord comes to fruition and is gathered into His barn, separated from the tares which are bound together and burned.
