26:51  - 2 years ago
State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara, founded in 1994 by former American Ballet Theatre dancer Rodney Gustafson, presents the second act from its full-length production of "The Hollywood Nutcracker," choreographed by Mr. Gustafson to the music by Tchaikovsky. This performance was recorded in December, 2006. The Southern California-based State Street Ballet has toured extensively throughout the Western United States over the past few years, earning rave reviews for its sleek new look at classical ballet. During the 2005-2006 season, the company made its East Coast debut with a tour of "Cinderella" and its Midwest debut with a tour of "The Hollywood Nutcracker." In fall, 2006, it toured the full-length ballet, "Carmen," and in 2007-2008, the company will tour Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
