Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Suzuki XL7
02:50  - 1 year ago
This T-1 connector gets mounted inside the vehicle and we have to take out the inside quarter panel. It's a pretty easy, we'll show you how to do it. The object is we have to get behind this panel over here, but to do that we have to take off this threshold strip because part of the panel lies underneath it. So we'll take off these tie downs and we should be able to take this threshold off. To get this off there's clips underneath here, you can use a wide screwdriver or gasket scraper. The wider the better to better distribute the force while prying it up. Once you get that off we can start working on this panel here. Now that we have the threshold off we can loosen this panel. We take out these two screws and the rest of the panel kind of pops off. Try to take out as little as possible so you can reach in and get to the connector. Once you have it open look for this 6 pin port that should match the T-1 connector. Basically it will plug into that, we'll hide the box inside here, and pull out our length from underneath. At this point we can re-install the panel. Just line up all the pins and it just takes a little time to pop them back together. Now we can put our threshold back into place. Essentially that's the product installed, unfortunately on this model there isn't a compartment to hide the four pole. If you have a cargo mat or liner to put in, just hide it underneath. This door seal is plenty thick so when your door presses on it, it won't hurt the wiring. We'll leave just a little bit out and pull out what we need. Even with the door shut we can still pull some out. That covers it for our install of part # 118372 on our 2004 Suzuki XL7.
