Max's Drop, one of the classic Rangitikei Rapids. First kayaked by Max Grant in the 1970s, hence the name. There are two possible drops, one on centre right, one on centre left. We tend to run centre left above about 20 cumecs and below about 10 cumecs. Between 10 and 20 cumecs we run centre right. Be alert as the bottom of the drops is in fact the start of the rapid, the drops being the first moves. For more rafting video, see www.rivervalley.co.nz
