Pro Mujer Peru is a microfinance institution that was established in 1999. Building on the Pro Mujer model, Pro Mujer Peru reached sustainability a few years later. Pro Mujer Peru offers a wide range of trainings including technical production, business management and communications. In addition to its business oriented trainings, Pro Mujer provides individualized attention to help women and their families cope with cases involving alcoholism and domestic violence. Pro Mujer Peru partners with universities and government offices in order to award the best services and resources to its clients. The Universidad Nacional del Altiplano assists with training initiatives; students from the Universidad Andina Nestor Caceres Velasquez provide legal assistance in cases involving domestic violence, claims of paternity rights and alimony; and MINSA (Ministry of Health) aides in promoting the integral health of women and their children.
