Sharif CE team in RoboCup (robot soccer) competitions in 1999 Stockholm, Sweden. Robots in RoboCup competitions are autonomous, and they play soccer without human intervention. The ultimate goal of these competitions is building a team of humanoid robots to win a match against the Brazilian national soccer team in 2050!
Sharif CE won the world championship in 1999 (Sweden), achieved the world third place in 2000 (Australia), and won the championship in European competitions in 2000 (Netherlands). Sharif CE also won the Best Engineering Challenge award in 2001 ( U.S.).
