An anti-poverty group stormed the public meeting.
whistle blows .... Julian: "this city council meeting is cancelled!"
The group of about 15 people was lead by Julian Ichim, a well-known local activist. They interrupted a delegation who was speaking on behalf of a local disability group (which Julian later apologized for). The councilors left the chambers while security slowly took control. The group shut down the meeting & took over the horseshoe - which was also being broadcast live on Rogers Television - for about 10 minutes. One young woman sat in mayor Carl Zehr's chair, swinging around yelling out to everyone in the room.
